In addition to the new financial functions eT3 added new general features to the existing On-Line Banking application as highlighted in the following points:

a.  Passwords

As explained in secured code feature, eT3 On-Line application is using a special secured formula to issue a generic password for first login time. The customer is then forced to enter his own password according to a password’s schema, fully parameterized by the bank administrators.

In the unlikely event of forgetting password, the customer will call the bank, and the responsible person using “Call Center” page of the application will be forced to ask him a set of questions such as National ID or Passport number, birthday, mother’s name etc… and check marks will be typed for each successful answer, if all answers are correct eT3 On-Line application will produce a new generic password and the customer will be forced to follow the first login time procedures.

Partial passwords are intensively used by eT3 On-Line application whenever performing a sensitive function such as remittance and stop cheques as additional security measure.

b. Time Out

eT3 On-Line application is using two time outs parameters to cover two different situations;

      In case of session inactivity; in this case the application will automatically close the session.

      In case of user inactivity; in this case the application will disable the user as the customer will be unable to login and he will be forced to call the bank, and the responsible person using “Call Center” page of the application will be forced to ask him a set of fixed questions and check marks will be typed for each successful answer, if all answers are correct eT3 On-Line application will enable the user again.

c. Image Verification Test (CAPHTA)

In order to prevent hackers to use an automate a function to break passwords eT3 application, at login page, and whenever required, will force  the user to type the alphanumeric values contained in a displayed image, the application will compare the typed value with the image one; if the two values are not identical the application will refuse login and will consider this unsuccessful login as a failed try to login which under any circumstances could never exceed a certain number of login trials as this number is one of the application parameters .
